I love this time of year—all the fall scents and the fun, festive treats to make! I am a total sucker for candy melts, too. There’s so much you can do with them, from easy Halloween pretzels to just about anything your imagination can cook up. They taste wonderful paired with salty treats or even Oreos, so let your imagination run wild!
If you’re making these blood-splattered Halloween pretzels in bulk for a gathering, I want to share a helpful tip I’ve learned along the way. While this base recipe calls for two cups of pretzels, you can generally cover about 1 cup of pretzels per single square of almond bark. So, if you double or triple the batch, just keep in mind that every two cups of pretzels will need about two squares of almond bark!.

Easy Blood Splattered Halloween Pretzels
Ingredients:
- White Almond bark
- Pretzels mini twist style work best
- Coconut oil
- Red candy melts
Directions:
Melt the Base: Melt the almond bark according to the package directions. Stir in ¼ teaspoon of coconut oil (optional) to achieve a smooth, silky texture. I have been using my Wilton candy melt pot for YEARS and it’s still going strong, if you do a lot with candy melts or almond bark I highly suggest getting one.

Coat the Pretzels: Dip each pretzel into the melted almond bark until fully coated.

Set the Foundation: Place the coated pretzels on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let them harden completely.
Melt the Red Accents: Melt the red candy melts and stir in ¼ teaspoon of coconut oil (optional) to help thin it out for easy drizzling.

Create the Splatter: Dip a spoon or fork into the melted red candy and flick or fling it over the set white pretzels to create a blood-splatter effect.

Set: Allow the red candy layer to set completely before serving.

Serve: Enjoy your eerie treats!
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to add coconut oil to the almond bark?
No, adding coconut oil is completely optional. I have used it a lot without coconut oil, but it does help give the almond bark a smoother, easier-to-work-with consistency.
Can you add other types of oil?
Yes, but I would be mindful of which kind of oil you use. Make sure it’s not something that will leave behind a lingering flavor.
