I am a huge fan of sweet and salty snacks! I’ve been thinking about the easy peanut butter Bugles clusters recipe for a little while and finally decided to put it together. It totally goes against the diet I’m currently on, but a little treat from time to time isn’t a bad thing. Well, except for the fact that I didn’t have anyone here to taste-test them for me, so I ate the entire batch myself. Needless to say, I 100 percent think they are delicious, lol.

However, I do want to put this out there: I tend to go heavy on the sweetness. If you like your sweet-and-salty ratios to be a bit more balanced, I suggest making less of the peanut butter mixture. It’s easy-peasy to adjust—I’d suggest using 1/3 cup of each ingredient rather than 1/2 cup. Yup, it’s that simple! You could also just double up on the Bugles and add two bags instead of one, depending on how many you’re trying to make. Either way, it works.

Tips from me to you:

  • Tossing them into the fridge: I highly recommend popping these Easy Peanut Butter Bugles Clusters in the fridge to set and store—they taste so much better when they’re nice and chilled! Plus, storing them in the fridge helps the peanut butter coating stay nice and firm.
  • Balancing the ratios: This recipe is pretty heavy on the peanut butter mixture. If you prefer a more balanced sweet-to-salty flavor, I suggest cutting the mixture down to 1/3 cup each and keeping the amount of Bugles the same. Alternatively, you can always add more Bugles to the original amount of mixture if you want to make a larger batch.
  • Adding mix-ins: You can totally opt for some fun mix-ins! I think some mini chocolate chips would be a great addition. Or, if you want a twist, Jif makes a chocolate peanut butter you could try swapping in for the regular peanut butter. I haven’t tried it but I did add it to my list of to-do things, the next time I make these.
  • Adding a chocolate drizzle: Once your clusters are set, you could melt some chocolate chips and drizzle them over the top for an extra indulgent treat.
  • Adding vanilla extract: I use this same mixture for my Peanut Butter Cereal Bars, and I usually add a splash of vanilla. You can definitely add it here too—just stir in about a teaspoon right when you remove the pan from the heat, just before you add the peanut butter.
  • Adding a pinch of sea salt: Not salty enough for you? You can also sprinkle some flaky sea salt over the tops of the clusters before they set.
