I have been in a place where I desperately want to fix up my home, but  due to financial constraints, I haven’t been able to get the necessary repairs done. While many of the larger repairs my home needs won’t happen overnight, I’ve realized that quotes are powerful seeds we plant into our minds and what we look around and see influences our overall way of thinking and the feeling of our home.  While I may not be able to tackle these repairs right now, there are small affordable things I can do to make my home feel better.

I wanted to print out one of my favorite quotes—a motto that has guided me over the past year: Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” — Arthur Ashe. This quote speaks to me in so many ways, and I still remember reading it for the first time. It inspired me to begin my own imperfect journey: quitting smoking, losing weight, improving my mental health, and stepping into the unknown with my best foot forward. And, I am still applying this way of thinking with both my personal life and my professional life and getting the ball rolling with my blog again.

  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Printer

Let’s get started:

If you don’t want to use our free printables, you can find a quote that speaks to you.  We have a post where you can check out a number of powerful motivational quotes.   This is all you, put whatever you want here.

If you’d like to create your own unique quotes, Canva is one of my personal favorites. It’s an incredibly user-friendly tool that offers a massive library of free features, templates, and fonts to help you design the perfect look. They offer both a free and paid service, it’s a great tool to get you started with unlimited possibilities.

Steps to create your art:

  1. Choose your size: Start by creating a custom-sized canvas based on the dimensions of your picture frame.
  2. Design: Pick a template you love, or start from scratch. Play around with the fonts, colors, and clipart until it’s exactly what you want!
  3. Print and Frame: Once you’re happy with your design, print it out, trim it to fit your frame, and BAM—your masterpiece is ready to display.

Pro-Tip: If you want to go the extra mile, don’t forget the frame itself! A quick coat of paint in a fun color can give an old frame a fresh, modern look or a beautiful rustic vibe. The possibilities are truly endless—have fun with it!
