When developing this recipe, I decided to play with the cream cheese ratio a bit. Past Oreo balls I’ve made were good, but sometimes felt a little too sweet. By using Double Stuf Oreos this time around, I was able to get away with using only 3 ounces of cream cheese to reach the ideal moldable consistency. I am a huge fan of the results—they strike a much better balance—but if you prefer a richer or softer cream cheese texture, you can totally do your thing there too!

I had a lot of fun making these. I originally wanted to make Ghost Oreo Ball pops by molding the Oreo cream cheese mixture and dipping into the almond bark. After playing around for a bit, I really liked the details that putting everything in the mold produced. It takes a bit longer, but it was totally worth it in my opinion but you can totally dip them if you would rather do that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where did you get your mold.

I love this mold, the little ghost are so darn cute. I got my mold from Walmart they have a variety of molds that you can view on their website here.

Do I have to add coconut oil to the almond bark?

No, you do not have to add coconut oil, it’s totally optional. In my opinion it does give it a smoother texture, making the consistency easier to work with than without it.

Can you add other types of oil?

Yes, you sure can I would just be sure not to use one that may leave a flavor behind.

Do you have to use a melting pot to melt the chocolate?

No, but I love mine and if you do a lot with candy melts I highly recommend one. They help me keep my chocolate just right while I get my together together, lol. Mine has been my trusted sidekick for many moons and my Wilton candy melt pot for YEARS and it’s still going strong.
